2005 Player of the Year: Scott Roehl

September 5-11: Scott Roehl. Scott gave up one unearned run in two playoff appearances. He had seven strikeouts and zero walks in three innings.

August 29-Sept. 4: Cody Clark. Cody was 6-17 (.353) with one double, one homerun and three RBI in leading San Diego to the Golden Baseball League Championship by being named tournament MVP.

August 22-28: Michael Conner & Scott Roehl. Conner had three doubles (25), two homeruns (12), five RBI (59), nine walks (26) and five stolen bases (22) in nine games. Scott (2-0, 0.85) won his only start of the week with seven scoreless innings. He gave up four hits, walked one and struck out a career high eight.

August 15-21: Peter Eberhardt & Ryan Fox. Eberhardt (0-0, 0.00) pitched four scoreless innings over two games. He gave up four hits, walked none and struck out five. Fox (1-0, 3.62) picked up his first career win after pitching three perfect innings in his only game of the week. The nine up, nine down included three strikeouts.

August 8-14 Scott Roehl. Scott (1-0, 0.66) won his only start of the week with 6.2 scoreless innings. He gave up two hits, walked two and struck out four.

August 1-7: Scott Roehl. Scott (0-0, 0.79) went 12.0 innings in two starts this week. He gave up one run on ten hits, walked two and struck out ten.

July 25-31: Rodney Nye. Rodney was 9-22 (.409) with one double (15), one triple (4), one homerun (8) and six RBI (40) in six games.

July 18-24: Michael Conner and Scott Roehl. Conner had three doubles (17), one triple (3), one homerun (10), nine RBI (44) and three stolen bases (13). Roehl (0-0, 0.53) gave up two runs (one earned) and two hits in seven innings this week. In three games he walked one batter and struck out eleven.

July 11-17: Clint Brannon and Charlie Isaacson. Clint (7-5, 4.14) won his only start of the week after giving up one unearned run in five innings. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out two. Charlie (6-3, 2.61) won his only start of the week after giving up one run in 6.2 innings. He gave up eight hits, walked three and struck out five.

July 4-10: Cody Clark and Scott Roehl. Clark was 9-23 (.391) with one double (8), one triple (1), three homeruns (5) and nine RBI (25). Roehl (0-0, 0.00) threw 8.1 scoreless innings over three games (1 start). He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five.

June 27-July 3: teammates Michael Conner and Kirk McConnell. Conner was 14-31 (.452) with four doubles (12), three homeruns (7), 12 RBI (29) and two stolen bases (7). He raised his season batting average 45 points. McConnell was 13-28 (.464) with one double (3), four homeruns (5), 15 RBI (18) and four stolen bases (9). He raised his season batting average 73 points.

June 20-26: Haas Pratt and Devin Day. Haas was 8-23 (.348) with one stolen base, two doubles, three homeruns and seven RBI in his first six games of the year. Day was 10-21 (.476) with five doubles (7) in five games.

June 13-19: Rodney Nye and Charlie Isaacson. Rodney was 7-20 (.350) with two doubles (10), one homerun (5) and four RBI (25) in six games. Charlie (3-2, 3.27) won one of his two starts this week. He gave up three earned runs in 13.1 innings and had 13 strikeouts.

June 6-12: Josh Glynn and Rodney Nye. Josh (1-1, 3.63) pitched a seven inning complete game shutout in his only start of the week. He gave up four hits, walked one and struck out seven. Rodney was 8-25 (.320) with one double (8), one homerun (4), six RBI (21) and six walks (17)

May 30-June 5: Michael Conner. Conner was 9-28 (.321) with three doubles (5), one triple (1), two homeruns (2), one stolen base (2) and seven RBI (11) in six games.

May 23-29: Jay Sawatski. Jay (1-1, 1.78) picked up three saves (7) in four games this week. He pitched 4.1 scoreless innings, gave up one hit, walked one and struck out four.

May 16-22: Matt Carnes and Andy Wilson. Matt (3-0, 3.71) picked up one win in three games this week. He gave up two hits in 4.2 scoreless innings, walked none and struck out four. Andy was 13-20 (.650) with four doubles (6), one RBI (3) and five runs scored (16). He raised his batting average from .375 to .467 in five games.

May 9-15: Brady Toops. Brady was 4-9 (.444) in four games, with one double (3), one homerun (2) and one RBI (6).

May 2-8: Scott Roehl & Jay Sawatski. Scott (1-2, 2.81) gave up one hit and no runs in 4.2 innings over three games, walked none and struck out six. Jay (0-0, 0.00) picked up two saves (4) in three games (3 scoreless innings).

April 25-May 1: Jay Sawatski. Jay (0-0, 0.00) pitched 4.2 innings over two games and earned one save (2) while striking out 3 (12). Opponents are batting .209 in 12 innings against Jay this season.

April 18-24: Andrew Wishy. For the week Wishy was 5-14 (.357) with one double (4), three walks (6) and two RBI (2).

April 11-17: Jay Sawatski. Jay (0-0, 0.00) pitched 4.1 scoreless innings over three games this week. He had six strikeouts (9) and picked up his first save of the season.

April 6-10: Kit Pellow. Kit was 5-12 (.417) with 1 double, 1 homerun, 3 runs scored, 3 RBI and 3 walks in 4 games.

 

 

2004

 

2004 Player of the Year: JARRETT GARDNER

August 30-September 5: Clint Brannon and Ryan Fox. Clint (3-2, 0.59) won one of his two starts this week and had 10.1 scoreless innings. He gave up four hits, walked none and struck out eight. Ryan had one stolen base (7), seven walks (44), one double (7), two homeruns (12) and nine RBI (36) in six games.

August 23-29: Michael Conner. He had two stolen bases (20), four doubles (18), two homeruns (11) and 13 RBI (52) in six games.

August 16-22: Michael Conner. He had one double (14), two stolen bases (18), two homeruns (9) and seven RBI (39).

August 9-15: Jarrett Gardner & Clint Brannon. Gardner (12-5, 2.48) won both of his starts this week with 14 scoreless innings. He gave up six hits, walked none and struck out nine. Clint Brannon (2-0, 0.79) won his only start of the week with five scoreless innings. He gave up one hit, walked none and struck out six.

August 2-8: Michael Conner. He had two doubles (9), one homerun (6), seven RBI (27) and one stolen base (13).

July 26-August 1: Andy Wilson and Charlie Isaacson. Andy was 12-27 (.444) with nine runs scored (61), three doubles (12) and five RBI (29). Charlie (3-2, 2.95) pitched a complete game shutout in his only start of the week. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out nine in nine innings.

July 19-25: Clint Brannon. Clint (0-0, 0.95) got his first career save this week after giving up one unearned run in two games. He gave up three hits in eight innings and struck out 11.

July 12-18: Charlie Isaacson. Charlie (2-1, 3.78) had one win in two starts for the week. He gave up three runs in 12 innings, walked two and struck out 15.

July 5-11: Michael Conner. He was 11-28 (.393) with three stolen bases (6) one double (5), three homeruns (3), ten runs scored (21) and six RBI (12) in TEN games.

June 28-July 4: Ryan Fox. He was 9-22 (.409) with eight runs scored (14), three doubles (4), three homeruns (5) and nine RBI (15).

June 21-27: Kit Pellow. Kit was 5-17 (.294) with one double, two homeruns and five RBI in his first five games at Colorado Springs.

June 14-20: Matt Erickson & Andrew Wishy. Erickson was 12-29 (.414) with one stolen base (7) two doubles (15), one homerun (2) and five RBI (15) in eight games. Wishy was 7-20 (.350) with two homeruns (8) and seven RBI (34).

June 7-13: Matt Erickson & Matt Carnes. Erickson was 8-19 (.421) with six doubles (13), one RBI (10) and one stolen base (6) in six games. Carnes (1-0, 2.45) had one win and one save (2) in two games this week. He gave up two earned runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out 11.

May 31-June 6: Jarrett Gardner & Brian Kirby. Kirby was 9-26 (.346) with two doubles (4), three homeruns (7) and seven RBI (19). J.G. (7-1, 1.54) pitched six scoreless innings for the win in his only start of the week. He gave up two hits, walked none and struck out five.

May 24-30: Jarrett Gardner & Rodney Nye. Nye was 7-17 (.412) at the plate with three doubles (11) and seven RBI (18). Jarrett (6-1, 1.72) won one of his two starts this week. In those two games he pitched 14 innings, gave up four runs, walked none and struck out 12.

May 17-23: Jarrett Gardner & Brian Kirby. Jarrett (5-1, 1.41) won his only game of the week with seven scoreless innings. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out one. Brian was 6-10 (.600) in his first three games of the year with two doubles, one triple, two homeruns, and seven RBI.

May 10-16: Matt Carnes & Jarrett Gardner. Matt (2-0, 1.29) won his only start of the week. He gave up one run in eight innings, walked one and struck out seven. Jarrett (4-1, 1.72) won his only start of the week as well. He gave up one unearned run in seven innings, walked one and struck out three.

May 3-9: Matt Carnes & Andrew Wishy. Matt won his first start of the season after giving up one run in six innings. He walked two and struck out six. Wishy was 10-26 (.385) with three doubles (6), two homeruns (3), one stolen base (3), five walks (15) and nine RBI (16).

April 26-May 2: Gary Hogan. Gary pitched 8.2 scoreless innings in his first two games with Stockton. He gave up three hits, walked two, and struck out seven.

April 19-25: Scott Roehl. In two games, Scott (1-0, 4.60) pitched 5.2 scoreless innings and picked up his first win of the season. He gave up only one hit and struck out seven (14) of the eighteen batters he faced.

April 12-18: Mike Oquist. He pitched 4.2 innings in his first start of the year, giving up one earned run and striking out two.

April 5-11: Jarrett Gardner. He won his only start of the week with five scoreless innings. He gave up two hits and struck out two.

 

 

2003

 

2003 Player of the Year: RODNEY NYE

September 1-7: Ryan Fox. He was 3-12 (.250) with one double (8), four walks (22), two homeruns (8) and three RBI (26) in four games.

August 25-31: Matt Erickson and Andrew Wishy. Matt was 12-21 (.571) with three doubles (22), one triple (4), one HBP (10), one walk (41), one stolen base (13) and six RBI (35). He raised his batting average from .324 to .341 for the season and is 7-9 (.778) in his last two games. Wishy was 8-24 (.333) with eight runs scored (45), one triple (7), one homerun (5), seven walks (52) and nine RBI (52).

August 18-24: Matt Erickson and Scott Roehl. Matt was 8-17 (.471) with three doubles (19), one triple (3) and two RBI (29). Scott (4-6, 3.94) won both of his starts this week. In ten innings of work he gave up eight hits and one run, walked none and struckout ten.

August 11-17: Bubba Carpenter and Michael Conner. Bubba was 14-24 (.583) with five doubles (6), three RBI (7), seven runs scored (11) and one stolen base (1) in six games. He raised his batting average 144 points from .235 to .379 . Conner was 16-33 (.485) with twelve runs scored (57), two doubles (19), one triple (1), two homeruns (18), eight RBI (49) and seven stolen bases (33) in eight games. He raised his batting average 22 points.

August 4-10: Michael Conner. Michael was 7-26 (.269) with one double (17), two homeruns (16), four RBI (41) and four stolen bases (26).

July 28-August 3: Matt Erickson and Rodney Nye. Matt was 13-24 (.542) with four stolen bases (12) two doubles (15), one triple (2) and seven RBI (25). Rodney was 11-27 (.407) with two stolen bases (3), five walks (50), four doubles (36), six runs scored (60), one homerun (6) and four RBI (51).

July 21-27: Ryan Lundquist and Kit Pellow. Ryan was 5-17 (.294) with one double (10), two homeruns (8) and nine RBI (35). Kit was 9-28 (.321) with four homerun (15) and seven RBI (41).

July 14-20: Ryan Fox and Andrew Wishy. Fox was 8-21 (.381) with his first homerun, four RBI's, and four runs scored. Wishy was 9-22 (.409) with one double (5), one triple (3), four RBI (21) and two runs (18).

July 7-13: Michael Conner and Rodney Nye. Conner was 11-28 (.393) with four doubles (13), three homeruns (10), ten RBI (27) and two stolen bases (16). Nye was 13-29 (.448) with two doubles (30), one triple (3), one homerun (4) and eight RBI (43).

June 30-July 6: Andy Wilson and Gary Hogan. Wilson was 10-19 (.526) with one double (4), a grand slam, four stolen bases, and six RBI (11). Hogan (3-2, 3.84) pitched in two games this week, winning one and saving (3) the other. In nine innings he gave up eight hits and zero runs, walked one and struck out six.

June 23-29: Ryan Lundquist. Ryno was 6-17 (.353) in six games this week. He had one double (7), three homeruns (6) and six RBI (19).

June 16-22: Lance Franks & Andrew Wishy. Lance was 2-0 in his first two starts with Quebec. In 14.1 innings he gave up eight hits and two runs, walked two and struck out ten. Andrew was 6-16 (.375) with two doubles, one triple, five RBI, eight walks and two stolen bases in his first week of professional baseball. He hit safely in all five games.

June 2-15: Bubba Carpenter, Matt Erickson & Charlie Isaacson. Charlie (3-0, 0.57) pitched eight more scoreless innings in seven games. He picked up one save (4), gave up one hit, walked one batter and struck out nine (31). Bubba was 17-49 (.347) at the plate with five doubles (8), five RBI (5), five walks (8) and his first stolen base of the season. Matt was 10-28 (.357) at the plate with a double (10), his first homerun, five RBI (9), eight walks (20) and three stolen bases (7).

May 26-June 1: Michael Conner. He had a double, two homeruns (3), five RBI (8) and five walks (9).

May 19-25: Kevin Vent. Kevin (6-2, 2.95) won both games he pitched this week, giving up one earned run in 5.1 innings.

May 12-18: Matt Carnes. Matt pitched 9.2 innings over two games, allowing two runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out four.

May 5-11: Charlie Isaacson. Charlie (3-0, 0.60) pitched in three games, winning one and saving (2) one. In 2.1 innings he gave up two hits and zero runs, walked one and struck out four (15).

April 28-May 4: Charlie Isaacson & Kit Pellow. Charlie picked up his first two wins of the season with 4.2 innings of relief. In three games he gave up zero runs (to lower his ERA to 0.71) and two hits, walked five and struck out three. Kit was 11-30 (.367) with three doubles (7), three homeruns (5), eight runs scored (15) and six RBI (17).

April 21-27: Kevin Vent. Kevin pitched five innings, with five strike outs, over three games this week without allowing an earned run.

April 14-20: Rodney Nye. Rodney was 9-21 (.429) at the plate with five RBI (6), five doubles (7), six runs scored (7) and seven walks (9).

April 3-13: Gary Hogan. Gary has pitched 6.2 scoreless innings in three games this season, picking up one save in the process. He's given up two hits, walked three, and struck out four.

 

 

 

2002

 

2002 Player of the Year: CLIFF LEE

Sept. 2-8: Matt Erickson. Matt was 5-6 with four doubles (30) and two RBI (27) in his last game of the season.

August 26-Sept. 1: Charlie Isaacson and Andy Wilson. Charlie (5-3, 2.54) won one of his two starts this week. He struck out 16 batters and walked nine in twelve innings. Andy was 11-27 (.407) with two doubles (18), a homerun (6), three RBI (35), and seven runs scored (63). He also stole two bases (21).

August 19-25: Mark Burnett. Mark had two doubles (11), a triple (6) and six more RBI (40).

August 12-18: Mark Burnett and Lance Franks. Mark was 10-23 (.435) with three doubles (9), a triple (5), a homerun (2), thirteen RBI (34), and one stolen base (9). Lance (9-3) won his only start of the week. He gave up one unearned run in seven innings with no walks and four strikeouts.

August 5-11: Charlie Isaacson. Charlie (3-3) picked up a win with six strong innings in his only start. He gave up one run on four hits and struck out seven.

July 29-Aug. 4: Bubba Carpenter and Lance Franks. Bubba was an incredible 16-25 (.640) at the plate with a homerun (6), two triples (3), and four RBI (20). Lance improved to 8-2 with two complete game victories, one a complete game one hitter. He walked four and struck out 13 in 18 innings.

July 22-28: Bubba Carpenter and Kit Pellow. Bubba was 12-25 (.480) with three doubles (7) and four homeruns (5). He also had 11 RBI (16), five walks (15) and two stolen bases (5). Kit was 11-25 (.440) with three doubles (22) and four homeruns (21). He also had ten RBI (62) and two walks (16).

July 15-21: Cliff Lee and Kyle Washburn. Cliff won his first start at AAA, giving up one run in six innings. He gave up six hits and struck out three batters. Kyle was 6-13 (.462) with five doubles (12) and six RBI (20).

July 8-14: Matt Erickson. In four games this week Matt had four doubles (20), four runs scored (45), three RBI (20), and two stolen bases (14).

July 1-7: Brian Kirby and Kit Pellow. Brian was 10-25 (.400) at the plate, raising his average 19 points. He also scored eight runs (29), had two doubles (13) and four homeruns (9), drove in five runs (30), and walked four times (32). Kit was 12-30 (.400) at the plate, raising his average 15 points. He also had three doubles (17), three homeruns (17), and seven RBI (49).

June 24-30: Kyle Washburn and Alan Mahaffey. Kyle was 9-21 (.429) at the plate with four doubles (7), a homerun (2), seven runs scored (18) and four RBI (13). Alan (9-1) won both of his starts this week, one of which was a complete game shutout three hitter. In 17 innings he gave up one run and seven hits, walked seven, and struck out seven.

June 17-23: Joe Jester. Joe was 8-16 (.500) at the plate with two doubles (11), a triple (2), a homerun (5), and four RBI (18).

June 10-16: Kit Pellow. Kit was 9-30 (.300) at the plate with a double (12), three homeruns (9), and nine runs batted in (33).

June 3-9: Alan Mahaffey. Alan (6-1) won both of his starts this week and has won each of his last six starts on the season. He gave up three runs in 15 innings, walked three batters and struck out 12.

May 27-June 2: Kit Pellow. Kit was 10-27 (.370) at the plate with four doubles (10), three homeruns (6) and six RBI (23). He was also hit by a pitch four times (10).

May 20-26: Cliff Lee. Cliff started two games getting one win and one loss. He gave up three runs and seven hits in 13 innings, walked three and struck out an incredible 21 batters!

May 13-19: Matt Carnes and Kevin Vent. Carnes (5-2, 2.67) picked up two wins in two relief appearances. He pitched five innings, giving up one run, walking two and striking out four. Vent (5-2, 4.24) picked up two wins and a save (1) in four relief appearances. He gave up three runs in 4.2 innings.

May 6-12: Cliff Lee and David Walling. Cliff pitched seven strong innings to improve to 4-0 on the year. He gave up five hits and two runs, walked one and struck out seven. David gave up two runs in a complete game effort but lost, falling to 1-5 on the season. He gave up five hits, walked one batter, and struck out three. Each pitcher gave up two homeruns, accounting for all of the runs they gave up.

April 29-May 5: Mark Burnett. Mark was 7-26 (.269) at the plate with one double and six RBI (10). He also scored two runs, had two sac flies, stole a base (4) and was hit by a pitch.

April 22-28: Cliff Lee. Cliff improved to 2-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.74 with six scoreless innings in his only start of the week. He gave up one hit, walked one batter, and struck out five batters.

April 15-21: Cliff Lee. Cliff picked up his first win of the season in his only start of the week. In 7 innings he gave up three hits and zero runs, walked none and struckout five batters.

April 8-14: Kevin Vent. Kevin has pitched 9.2 innings this season, giving up two runs, one of them earned, for a 0.93 ERA.

April 3-7: Scott Pose. Scott was 7-14 (.500) at the plate with two doubles and four runs batted in. He also walked six times and scored six runs.
