4/17/04: Shameka Christon was drafted in the first round (5th overall) of the WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty.

4/14/04: Joe Johnson played 40 minutes or more for the 35th straight game, tying Bill Russell for the ninth-longest streak in NBA history.

4/11/04: Joe Johnson played 46 minutes, the 33rd consecutive game he has played 40 minutes or more, the 13th-longest streak in NBA history. Just ahead of him are Wilt Chamberlain and Neil Johnston, each with 34 straight games of at least 40 minutes.

4/9/04: Joe Johnson played 45 minutes, the 32nd consecutive game he has played 40 minutes or more. That tied him with Wilt Chamberlain for 13th place on the NBA's all-time list and is the longest streak since Chamberlain played 34 in a row. Only nine players in NBA history, including Johnson, have a string of 30 or more games playing at least 40 minutes, and seven are in the Hall of Fame - Nate Archibald, Chamberlain, John Havlicek, Neil Johnston, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell and Nate Thurmond. The other is Anthony Mason. Chamberlain has the record of 102 consecutive 40-minute games (he did it twice). Johnson scored in double figures for the 41st consecutive game, the fifth-best streak in the NBA.

4/7/04: Joe Johnson played 47 minutes, the 31st consecutive game he had played 40 minutes or more. It is the longest streak in the NBA since former Boston star John Havlicek played 31 from Jan. 23-March 19, 1971.

3/25/02: Gary Steelheads (CBA) center Oliver Miller earned American Conference Player of the Week. For the week he led Gary to a 3-2 mark behind his 19.6 points and league high 20 rebounds per game. He also averaged 6.5 assists, 1.2 steals and a league high 3.2 blocks.
