Jarrett Gardner -- Pitching Coach, Lincoln Saltdogs (American Association, Independent Baseball)
(as of baseball season 2011) Gardner announced his retirement from baseball on March 22, 2010 and accepted the position of pitching coach for the Lincoln Saltdogs of the independent American Association on the same day.
Susie Gardner -- Head Women's Basketball Coach, Mercer University Bears
(as of basketball season 2011-12) Susie Gardner was named the head women's basketball coach
at Mercer University in June 2010. From April 2007 until June 2010 she
was an assistant coach at the University of Florida. She spent the four
previous seasons (2003-07) as the head women's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas.
A native of Tennessee, Gardner went to two Final Fours and was a part of
three Southeastern Conference championships during her playing days at
Georgia. She started her coaching career as a graduate assistant under
Lady Bulldog head coach Andy Landers.
Gardner led APSU to 22 consecutive wins this season, giving the Lady
Govs the nation's second longest winning streak which ended with one of
the 2003 NCAA Tournament's most exciting games, a 72-70 decision to
North Carolina. She guided the Lady Govs to three straight OVC
Tournament titles and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. Named
the OVC Coach of the Year in 2003, this season's team finished the year
27-4 overall.
Gardner became a head coach at Anderson College from 1988 to 1992,
compiling a 60-48 record including a 24-4 record during the 1988 season.
Her 1988 team was the co-champion of Region X in the juco ranks, with
the 1991 and 1992 teams finishing as the regional runner-up. She became
an assistant coach with San Diego State in 1992, helping the Aztecs
reach three straight Western Athletic Conference titles and consecutive
NCAA Tournament appearances in 1993, 1994 and 1995. During her tenure
with SDSU, the Aztecs were ranked top 10 in the country in defense.
Linda Garza -- Associate Head Softball Coach, Cal Poly Mustangs
(as of softball season 2011-12) Linda Garza, an
assistant coach at Purdue University the previous five seasons
(2004-09), was named the head softball coach at Wright State University
on August 24, 2009. She spent one season at Wright State before moving
to Cal Poly.
Garza had been the top assistant for the Boilermakers since 2005 and has
helped lead Purdue to 30 or more wins in each campaign. Purdue advanced
to the NCAA Tournament in 2009, winning twice in regional play.
Garza's duties at Purdue included all facets of the program from
recruiting and scheduling to coaching the outfielders and assisting the
hitters and runners. During her time with the Boilermakers, Purdue set
five new offensive records and led the Big Ten in stolen bases, double
plays and sacrifice flies as she coached 10 All-Big Ten and six
All-Mideast selections.
Garza, a graduate of UNLV, also was an assistant coach at the University
of Tulsa and the University
of Arkansas prior to her position at Purdue.
While with the Hurricanes, Garza worked as an outfield coach, acted as
co-director of camps and handled team travel. Her tenure at Tulsa
followed a two-year stint at the University
of Arkansas, during which Garza worked with
the Lady Razorback outfielders, emphasizing footwork, fielding and throwing.
She was the team's base running coach, working with players on mechanics
and decision-making. She also coordinated scheduling, travel, camps and
community service activities for the team.
Garza got her start in coaching during her playing days at UNLV. In
addition to being an instructor at the Rebels' camps, she was an
assistant coach for the Clovis Rockets Gold and 18-and-under teams.
After finishing her playing career at UNLV, Garza worked for one season
as a student assistant coach with the team.
During her playing career from 1998 to 2001, Garza was a four-year
starter at second base, third base and in the outfield. She started the
last 155 games of her career, earning All-Mountain West Conference
honors at third base as a senior after leading the Rebels in triples,
RBI and sacrifice hits. The four-time academic all-conference honoree
boasted a .262 career batting average, while laying down 45 sacrifice
hits in her career, just five short of the UNLV record. Garza ranks
among the UNLV and Mountain West single season and career top 10 lists
in several categories. She ended her career among the UNLV career top 10
in doubles, walks, hits and sacrifice hits. She also owns three spots
among the Mountain West single-season records lists: eighth in assists
(151 in 2000), ninth in fielding double plays (14 in 2000) and 10th in
sacrifice bunts (13 in 2000).
Betsy Graham -- Head Swimming Coach, Catawba College
(as of the 2009-10 school year) Betsy Graham enters
her sixth season (06-07) as head coach of the Catawba College women's
swim team and will coach the men this year in their initial season. She
came to Catawba from the University
of Arkansas, where she served as an assistant
from 1996 until coming to Catawba.
Last season, Catawba's women finished fifth at the Bluegrass Mountain
Conference Meet, setting six school marks over the three days. Under
Graham, Catawba has produced an All-American and an All-Academic
honorable mention team member. The teams have broken a total of 40
records with a pair of NCAA cuts and five NCAA "B" cuts. Catawna is 21-9
in duel meets during Grahma's tenure.
Prior to her stint at Arkansas, Graham served as the head coach of the
Aqua-Tex Swim Team (ATEX) in Houston, TX. As head coach of the ATEC
squad, Graham enjoyed many highlight including a swimming finialist at
the 1996 Olympic trials. She also coached two Olympic Festival medalists
as well as junior and senior national champions. Graham also coached a
1994 and 1996 male academic All-American and placed a swimmer on the
national junior team. She owns a Level Five certification.
Before her stint at Arkansas, Graham had previously been an assistant at Ferris State
and Northern Michigan Universities. She concluded her studies at
Northern Michigan, earning a bachelor of science degree in recreation in
1989.
Graham, who was born in Richmond, VA, attended high school in
Kingsville, TX, where she was an All-American in 1983-84. She was a
two-time team captain at the University of Wyoming in 1987-88 and a NCAA
Nationals qualifier in 1986 while swimming at Texas Tech. Graham was a
senior national qualifier from 1984-86.
Jodi Greve -- Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks
(as of basketball season 2010-11) Jodi Greve joined
SFA in May 2010 after four years (07-10) as the recruiting coordinator
at San Jose State. Previously she spent four years as an assistant at
Tyler Junior College (03-07). Prior to her stint at TJC she was with the
University of Montevallo's basketball teams as graduate assistant for
the 2002-03 season.
A native of Kenedy, Texas, Greve was a student-trainer at the University of Arkansas,
assisting with morning and individual workouts for the Razorback men's basketball
program for three seasons. She received her bachelor's degree in
Exercise Science from UA in the spring of 2001 and her master's in education at the
University of Montevallo in 2003
Greve also attended Odessa Junior College in Texas, participating with
the women's basketball team for the 1996-97 season. She later earned her
associate's degree in 1998 before transferring to Arkansas.

Al Grushkin -- Head Men's Basketball Coach, Indiana Tech University
(as of basketball season 2011-12) Grushkin was
named the head coach at Indiana Tech on March 27, 2010. Previously he
was a member of the Arkansas State coaching staff from September 2006
through 2008. He was named co-interim head coach on February 19, 2008.
Grushkin spent the previous six years as the head coach at Incarnate
Word, but has also coached at UT-San Antonio, Idaho State, Western
Illinois, Arkansas, Tulsa and Georgia State as either an assistant or
associate head coach.
Grushkin inherited an Incarnate Word program that was making the move
from NAIA to NCAA Divsion II status and compiled a 94-70 record during
his six-year tenure with the Cardinals. His 2001 team finished 25-4, won
the Heartland Conference and advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.
His 2002 squad compiled a 20-8 record and ranked as high as 20th
nationally. Grushkin's teams finished in the nation's top 25 in scoring
defense every year.
Prior to his arrival at Incarnate Word, Grushkin was an assistant coach
and the recruiting coordinator at UT-San Antonio from 1997-2000. During
his initial year at UTSA, the Roadrunners jumped from the bottom of the
Southland Conference standings to a second-place finish and the 1998
team won the Southland Conference and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
While at UTSA, Grushkin wrote "Defense With an Attitude", which was
published by Winning Hoops Magazine in 1998.
Grushkin served as the associate head basketball coach and recruiting
coordinator at Idaho State University from 1992-97, helping lead the
Bengals to the 1993 Big Sky title, their first in 17 years.
From 1987-92, Grushkin was a member of the Western Illinois coaching
staff as an assistant and the recruiting coordinator. Grushkin's major
responsibilities included team defense, but he also wrote "Multiple Zone
Offense" that was published by NABC Magazine in 1992.
While an assistant coach at Arkansas from 1985-87, Grushkin was primarily responsible for
scouting, academics, scheduling and conditioning, but also assisted in
the Razorbacks
defensive game plan in victories over nationally ranked Kansas and Ohio
State. During his tenure at Tulsa (1985-87) as an assistant coach, the
Golden Hurricane posted a 50-12 record and were a national top-10 team,
won two Missouri Valley Conference championships and made two NCAA
Tournament appearances.
Grushkin made his first collegiate stop at Georgia State, where he was
an assistant coach from 1981-83. He was also the head basketball coach
at Bishop Byrne High School in Georgia from 1979-81, posting a two-year
mark of 40-25 while leading the school to back-to-back playoff
appearances.
David Gunn -- Running Backs Coach, Arkansas State University Red Wolves
(as of football season 2011) David Gunn joined the ASU
staff in January 2002 as the running backs coach.
Prior to joining the ASU staff, he served as the head coach for Little
Rock McClellan High School and took his team to the 2001 AAAAA playoffs.
Gunn was the head coach at McClellan for five seasons (97-01) taking the
Crimson Tide to the playoffs twice (18-35). Prior to that, he served as
the boys and girls head track coach at Watson Chapel High School in Pine
Bluff. While at Watson Chapel, he also served as the running backs and
defensive backs coach and helped that team go to the AAA playoffs three
straight years and won the 1996 state championship.
This was the second time at Watson Chapel for Gunn who began his career
as the linebackers and wide receivers coach from 1987-90.
Gunn, a native of England, Ark., who excelled in football, basketball
and track at England High School, has also coached at Lake Highlands
High School in Dallas, Tex., where he coached running backs and helped
his team to a 1990 conference title.
After graduating from England High School in 1982, he attended the University of Arkansas
where he played defensive back and running back from 1982-87.
As a Razorback
player, he played in the 1984 Liberty Bowl and the 1987 Orange Bowl.
He graduated in 1987 with a bachelor of science in education degree in
physical education and biological science.
