| Important Notes: | Played fullback and second base at the University of Chicago...scouted for Pittsburgh before becoming their manager...took over half way through the 1917 season...managed Honus Wagner (1917) and Casey Stengel (1918-19)...team finished in fourth-place in 1918 and 1919...spent eleven years (1920-30) as the head baseball coach at Penn State University...he passed away on September 19, 1952....inducted into the Helms Foundation College Hall of Fame in 1960. |
