Retired from competition in 1996 after he finished fifth in the 800m at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Atlanta, Ga...a U.S. Olympic Trial qualifier five consecutive times from 1980 to 1996...was a two-time silver medalist in the 800m run in the Goodwill Games in 1986 and 1994...won two bronze medals at the Pan American Games in 1983 and 1987...a World Championship Track Team member in 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993. Had a six-year stint as head coach at the University of Tulsa (1994-2000)...at Tulsa, Redwine's athletes broke over 70 school records, most on multiple occasions...head coach of track & field and cross country at the University of Kansas from May of 2000 - Present (2005). Selected by USA Track and Field to serve as an assistant coach to Team USA in the XIIVth Pan American Games held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 2003...inducted into the Arkansas (state) Hall of Fame in 2003. |

Ran track at Arkansas from 1980-83...a four-time All-American...named UA's Outstanding Track Athlete all four of his years in Fayetteville...during his freshman season, he captured the Southwest Conference Championship in the indoor 600-yard run (1:10.52) and was a member of the outdoor conference champion 1,600m relay team...the next year, Redwine once again became the 600-yard run champion, improving his time to 1:09.97...as a senior, he was a three-time conference champion in the 800m run (1:50.15), 880-yard run (1:50.96) and the mile relay (3:14.69)...still ranks among the Razorbacks' top 10 in six events, which includes anchoring the school's record-setting sprint medley relay team (3:15.10) at the Penn Relays in 1983, which now ranks as the second-best time in history...owns the fourth-best time in school history in 800m at 1:46.13...also ranks fourth in the outdoor 400m dash and was a participant in several top-10 relay performances for the Razorbacks...still holds fourth, seventh and eighth-best times in the outdoor 1,600m relay record book and the second, sixth and ninth best times in the outdoor DMR...was inducted into the University of Arkansas Hall of Honor in 1999. Spent 11 years as an assistant coach at Arkansas (1983-1994)...during his tenure at UA, the Razorbacks captured nine consecutive National Championships and 22 titles in both track and field and cross country...helped produce 14 All-Americans and two NCAA champions in the hurdle and sprint events. |
