Important Notes: Drafted in the first round of the 1983 draft with the #12 pick overall by New York...was named to the NBA's all-rookie team in 1984...won the Allstate Good Hands Award in 1989-90...became Toronto's head coach in 1995, but quit in February 1998 because he didn't see a "light at the end of the tunnel."...guided the Raptors from 1996-98, compiling a 41-90 mark...coached the Rockford Lightning of the CBA before being hired to coach the Washington Wizards on 1/30/00...fired from Washington on 4/20/00 after compiling a 15-23 record...on July 14, 2000 Walker stepped in once again as an interim head coach, this time with the WNBA's Washington Mystics (5-9)...remained in Washington as director of player personnel for the Wizards in 2000-01, and was head scout and special assistant in 2001-02...joined the New Orleans Hornets as an assistant coach in July 2004...an assistant coach for the West team in the 2008 NBA All-Star game...hired as an assistant coach with the Detroit Pistons in June '08.
