The sparkplug
of the 1990 Coffeyville CC National Championship football team
was Tony Jeffery from Berkley High School, St. Louis, MO. In
two years for the Ravens he rushed for 1,396 yards scoring 22
touchdowns, and had 16 receptions for 365 yards and three touchdowns. His
greatest performance was in the National Championship game where
he rushed 23 times for a record of 283 yards and two touchdowns.
He was selected Most Valuable Player in that game.
Transferred to the University of Arkansas where he was the second
leading rusher on the team. However, he suffered a career-ending
knee injury during his senior year.

in 1985. Participated in three Olympic trials.

In 1952, as a
freshman at Arkansas, he set the freshman mile record of 4:28.9.
He left school, but returned as a sophomore in 1955 and placed
second in the SWC mile. In the fall of 1955 he won the SWC cross
country 3-mile in 15:00.1. That same year in the NCAA Cross Country
he placed 14th becoming the UA's first All-American distance
runner. In 1956 he placed second in the SWC Cross Country championship,
leading Arkansas to the title. He also placed 10th at the NCAA
and earned his second All-American title. In 1959 he coached
Arkansas's cross country team that won the SWC title.

the 800 meters, 5,000M in 13:13.02, 7:39.99 in the 3,000M and
the 10,000M in 17:58.99.

A longtime successful
Arkansas high school coach who was a pioneer in designing preseason
and off-season strength and conditioning programs. The Malvern
native played at Henderson State (1950-52) and was a graduate
assistant and freshman secondary coach at Arkansas from 1963-69.
He was the head football coach at Warren (AR) High School from
1958-63 and went 54-9-4 in that time. Worked at Henderson State
from 1969 to 1998.

He ran track
for the University of Arkansas from 1955-1959. At Arkansas, Oakley
was member of three Southwest Conference Cross Country championship
teams in 1956, 1957, and 1958 when he was team captain. He won
the SWC two-mile run in 1958. He placed third in the event in
1957 and second in 1959.

as the women's track and cross country coach at Arkansas. For
23 years, beginning in 1981, he held various jobs at John Brown
University, including head track and cross country coach and
sports information director.

relay, and was a world record holder in the 100 yard dash and
110 high hurdles. He won the NCAA Gold Medal in high hurdles
in 1948. Clyde Scott won the Silver Medal in High Hurdles at
the 1948 Olympic Games.

Wray was a standout
performer at Harrison High School and the University of Arkansas.
He broke both the Overall state high school record and the state
collegiate record in the 880-yard run. He won the district, state
and Meet of Champions in the 880 for three consecutive years.
In 1962 he became the first Arkansas high school athlete to break
2:00 in a state meet, running 1:59.7. Wray's best high school
performance was winning the 1964 Meet of Champions with an Overall
state record of 1:54.1. At Arkansas, he won the freshman division
in the SWC 880 in 1965 and was the SWC 880 champion in 1967.He
was runner-up in the 880 in 1966, but set the state collegiate
record of 1:49.3.
