·12/28/00: Norm DeBriyn was released from the hospital and cleared to go back to work!

·12/24/00: Norm DeBriyn was admitted to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville after having a heart problem.

·11/22/00: The Hogs received a national letter-of-intent from Kirk McConnell (5-9, 150) an outfielder from Magnolia. Kirk is the younger brother of former Hog baseball player Jason McConnell.

·11/8-11/15/00: The early signing period for baseball officially lands six new recruits to the UA team. Two JUCO players signed with the Hogs, including Adam Carter (6-0, 180) an infielder from Westark, and Josh Glynn (6-2, 195) a RHP from Yuba Community College in Marysville, California. Two players from Nettleton High School signed. They are Isaac Dillon (6-2, 165) an outfielder and Corey Ragsdale (6-3, 180) a shortstop who could contribute early. The other in state signee is Clint Brannon (6-0, 170) a LHP/DH from Bradford. Probably the prize of the early signing period is Chris Tierney (6-6, 205) a huge LHP from Lockport, Illinois.

·10/29/00: Notes from fall practice: Coach DeBriyn said that Charlie Isaacson has made good progress and is pretty close to being back to where he should be. Scott Crossett (shoulder) and Jeremy Rankin (knee surgery) did not participate in fall practice but should be back at 100% by spring. Senior Kyle Washburn is the front runner to start at catcher while Cody Clark has moved to third base. Gary Hogan Jr. should resume his role as the teams closer. A starting outfield of Scott Crossett, Brian Kirby, and Jeff Hoefler, should bring plenty of experience to the lineup, while Nick Pitts hopes to regain his late season form as the newly appointed first baseman.

·10/27/00: Former Hog Justin Riley has transferred to North Carolina State.

·10/21/00: The HogDogs won game five on Friday to take the series four games to one.

·10/19/00: The HogDogs took the first three games of the fall world series with the help of Fletcher (SS), Lyles (2B), Pitts (1B), and Hagedorn (3B). The ClarkBusters took game four on Wednesday night forcing a game five, which is set for Friday afternoon (info provided by Rachel).

·10/18/00: The Hogs received an oral commitment from Clint Brannon, a left-handed pitcher from Bradford, AR. Brannon, a high school senior, is 6'0", 185lbs and throws in the mid 80's.

·10/14/00: The best of seven fall world series begins today at 3 p.m. at Charlie Baum Stadium. Game two is Monday at 3:30 p.m. and game three is Tuesday at the same time. Game four is Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Game five is set for Friday at 3:30 p.m. Games six and seven will be on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. if necessary.

·8/7/00: 6-foot-5, 245-pound pitcher/tight end, Rylan Reed, from Crossett, Arkansas has chosen to sign with the White Sox instead of becoming a Razorback. With a fastball clocked at 96 mph in high school, Reed had the chance to play both football and baseball at the University of Arkansas.
