2001:

Player of the year is: Eric Hinske. Eric led all former Hogs with 25 homeruns and 20 stolen bases. He was second among former Hogs with 27 doubles, 79 runs batted in, 54 walks, and 71 runs scored. His .282 batting average was fifth among former Hogs. Eric also had one triple this season.

August 27-September 2: Matt Riethmaier. Matt pitched seven innings in his only start of the week. He gave up four hits and two runs, walked two and struck out seven for his third win of the season.

August 20-26: Brad Bohannon. Brad (3-4, 5.48) picked up one win in the two games he pitched. In eight innings he gave up four hits, no runs and no walks. He also struck out four batters.

August 13-19: Jason Stephens. Jason (6-6, 3.88) went 1-1 on the week, pitching 15 innings, including a complete game. He gave up three runs, two earned, and lowered his ERA by 42 points. He also walked three batters and struck out five.

August 6-12: Eric Hinske. Eric was 15-32 (.469) at the plate, with five doubles (23), four homeruns (22) and 13 RBI (64). He also scored nine runs (61) and stole two bases (17). This is the fourth time this season that Eric has been the player of the week. He was also named the Pacific Coast League player of the week.

July 30-August 5: Joe Jester & Ryan Lundquist. Joe was 11-23 (.478) at the plate with six doubles (12), a homerun (3), and three RBI (14). Ryno was 13-31 (.419) at the plate with a stolen base (8), five doubles (24), a homerun (12), five RBI (60), nine runs scored (54), and six walks (47). Lundquist was also selected as the California League Player of the Week.

July 23-29: Cliff Lee. Cliff (4-4, 3.22) picked up one win in his two starts this week. In thirteen innings he gave up nine hits, allowed two runs(both on homeruns), walked five batters, and struck out 17 batters.

July 16-22: Dan Wright. Dan (7-7, 2.82) went 1-1 on the week, giving up four runs in 15 innings. He walked three and struck out 18! He has struck out 128 batters this season. This is the fourth time this year and the second week in a row that Dan has been player of the week.

July 9-15: Dan Wright. Dan (6-6, 2.87) won his only start of the week with seven scoreless innings. He gave up five hits, walked three batters and struck out 4. This is the third time this season that Dan has been the player of the week.

July 2-8: Rodney Nye. Rodney was 10-21 (.476) with two doubles (16), two homeruns (6), seven RBI (31), and a stolen base (5).

June 25-July 1: Eric Hinske. Eric was 7-24 (.292) with three doubles (12), two homeruns (12), and five RBI (32). He was also hit by two pitches and intentionally walked for the first time this year.

June 18-24: Cliff Lee. Cliff pitched five innings in his only start, giving up no hits and no runs. He did not walk a batter and he struck out ten.

June 11-17: Dan Wright. Dan (4-5, 3.05) started two games this week and won them both. He gave up three runs, walked three, and struck out 17 batters in 14 innings.

June 4-10: Ike Pohle. Ike was 9-23 (.391) on the week with two doubles (3), two homeruns (2), nine runs batted in (12) and two walks (4). Ike is batting .359 in ten games this season with Kalamazoo.

May 28-June 3: Mark Burnett. Mark was 9-33 (.273) with a triple (5), homerun (3), seven RBI (27) and three walks (24).

May 21-27: Eric Hinske. Eric was 11-25 (.440) with a double (4) and four homeruns (7). He also had seven RBI's (19).

May 14-20: Ryan Lundquist. Ryno was 9-25 (.360) with four doubles (7) and three homeruns (4) on the week. He also scored nine runs (17) drove in eight runs (14) and walked four times (16).

May 7-13: Kevin Vent. Kevin started just his second game of the year and got a win to improve to 2-0. He pitched five innings of no hit, no run baseball, striking out four of the sixteen batters he faced.

April 30-May 6: Dan Wright. In his only start of the week Dan pitched nine innings, gave up three hits and two runs, and took a no decision because the game went to extra innings. He struck out eight batters and walked two.

April 23-29: Joe Jester. Joe was 8-21 at the plate with three doubles and a triple. He also had three RBI (9) and stole his eighth base.

April 16-22: Eric Hinske. Eric was 9-24 at the plate in six games, raising his batting average 75 points (.250). He hit two homeruns (3), both in the same game, drove in six runs (12), and scored three runs. He topped that off with two stolen bases (4).

April 9-15: Kit Pellow. Kit was 6-25 at the plate with three homeruns (3) and 11 runs batted in (14) in six games played.

 

2000:


August 29-September 4: Ryan Lundquist.
Ryan was 8 for 24 at the plate, with four doubles (24) and a triple (2). He also had four runs batted in and scored three runs. Unfortunately he also committed his second error of the year.

August 22-28: Cliff Lee and Matt Riethmaier. Cliff pitched six innings in a no decision effort. He gave up only two runs, walked two and struck out 13 of the 18 outs. Matt picked up his second win of the year in a complete game shut out. He gave up on two hits, struck out six and walked one.


August 15-21: Dan Wright. Dan picked up his first win at the AA level by pitching seven and two-thirds innings of shutout ball. He gave up only two hits, while walking three and striking out four.


August 8-14: Eric Hinske. Eric had seven hits in twenty-one at-bats. With those seven hits he had two doubles (19), his Southern League leading eighth triple, and two homeruns (16). Eric had eight RBI, three walks, and six runs scored.


August 1-7: Kit Pellow & Mike Oquist. Kit was 11 for 28 at bat for the week. He hit four homeruns to bring his total to 21 for the year. He also had two doubles and ten RBI for he week. Mike started two games and picked up two wins. He pitched 15 1/3 innings, including a complete game, giving up only four earned runs. He also walked six and struck out eleven.


July 25-31: Eric Hinske & Kit Pellow. Hinske hit four homeruns and a double while driving in six. Pellow had three homeruns and two doubles while driving in 13!!


July 18-24: Dan Wright. Dan started one game this past week, pitching seven innings of two hit, no run baseball. Unfortunately Dan got a no decision for his effort. He also walked one and struck out six.


July 11-17: Dan Wright. Dan pitched 15 innings over two games and got two wins. He only gave up three earned runs on eleven hits. Dan also walked three while striking out nine.


July 4-10: Eric Hinske. In the last seven games Eric hit four homeruns, had three doubles, and drove in ten runs.He also scored eight runs.
