HogNation: Did you know about the HogNation website before you received this letter/survey? If so, how?
Ryan Fox: Yes, just a little bit about it. Word of mouth.
HN: What was your favorite game as a Razorback and why?
RF: The Saturday night game against South Carolina my Junior year (went 5 for 6 and got SEC Player of the Week) or the Friday night game at Clemson in the Super Regional my Senior year (Hogs Won).
HN: What was it like being a Razorback?
RF: It was like being a Major League ball player, but I was in college. The fans were unbelievable. Being an Arkansas athlete was one of the best experiences in my life.
HN: Do you still follow the Hogs?
RF: Yes, as much as I can.
HN: What is the best thing about playing in the minor leagues?
RF: Being able to follow a life long dream.
HN: The worst thing?
RF: Being away from my fiance, family and home in Arkansas.
HN: Was it difficult to adjust to wooden bats?
RF: Yes, trying to find a wooden bat that best fits you (finding the right model).
HN: Have you played with or against any other former Hogs? If so who? What was it like?
RF: Played against Scott Hode, Haas Pratt, and Andrew Wishy. It was different, but fun to be able to get on the same field with them again, fun to get to watch them play.
HN: What did you think of Razorback fans? How do fans in the minor leagues compare?
RF: Razorback fans are by far the best fans I have ever played in front of. Minor league fans don't even compare. Hog fans are very loyal.
HN: Where are the best and worst places you've played games in the minor leagues? Why?
RF: The best place, field and fan wise would have to be Spokane, Washington (Texas Rangers short season). For the worst you can take your pick, there have been a few of them.
HN: Do you keep up with any of your former Hog teammates?
RF: Yes I do. Their are a few of us that keep in touch over the phone with each other, even keep in touch with some former Hogs that I didn't play with.
HN: How does each level (College, A, AA, etc) compare competitively?
RF: So far it's all been close to the same. You just have to prepare your body for games every day over a six month period. It can wear and tear on you mentally & physically. The competition in the minor leagues from top to bottom is more consistent.
