HogNation: Did you know about the Hogs in the Minors website before you received this letter/survey? If so, how?
Lance Franks: No.
HN: What was your favorite game as a Razorback and why?
LF: Against Wichita State in '96. My first start as a Razorback and went 7 innings and a shutout.
HN: What was it like being a Razorback?
LF: It was great because I'm from Arkansas. I always wanted to be a Hog.
HN: Do you still follow the Hogs?
LF: All the time. I'm always calling home and asking my parents how they're doing.
HN: What is the best thing about playing in the minor leagues?
LF: I'm still playing. That's the best thing. I love the game and am happy to be playing.
HN: The worst thing?
LF: The money. I'm in Connecticut and that sucks.
HN: Was it difficult to adjust to wooden bats?
LF: I'm a pitcher but I did go 7-15 last year in AA.
HN: Have you played with or against any other former Hogs? If so who? What was it like?
LF: Matt Carnes, Rodney Nye, Matt Erickson. I love playing against my friends. I struck out Rodney the other night. It was good visiting with them and telling old stories.
HN: What did you think of Razorback fans? How do fans in the minor leagues compare?
LF: Razorback fans are the best--Whoo PIG Sooie.
HN: Where are the best and worst places you've played games in the minor leagues? Why?
LF: Best place was in Little Rock. I was an hour from home. The worst was Clinton, Iowa. It was a dump.
HN: Do you keep up with any of your former Hog teammates?
LF: I talk to the ones that are still playing.
HN: How does each level (College, A, AA, etc) compare competitively?
LF: AA was tough. A
ball was compared to the SEC.
