Charlie Isaacson--Survey Responses

HogNation: Did you know about the Hogs in the Minors website before you received this letter/survey? If so, how?

Charlie Isaacson: No.

HN: What was your favorite game as a Razorback and why?

CI: I don't have one particular game, I have 2 favorite series, when we won the regional at Wichita, KS in 2002 and taking the first game in Clemson S.C. The reason is because we got hot and came out of nowhere to beat any team we played, and came one game away from Omaha. It was the first time since I had been there that a Hog team had captivated the entire state, and we all knew that Coach D was probably going to hang it up at the end of the season. We wanted to get him back to Omaha one last time.

HN: What was it like being a Razorback?

CI: One of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. I have more pride for the state of Arkansas than the state I grew up in. It was a privilege to play for Coach D.

HN: Do you still follow the Hogs?

CI: When I can.

HN: What is the best thing about playing in the minor leagues?

CI: A paycheck for playing baseball. Unlimited gum & seeds.

HN: The worst thing?

CI: Travel on a bus everywhere, half the team I'm on speaks Spanish.

HN: Was it difficult to adjust to wooden bats?

CI: I love wood bats!

HN: Have you played with or against any other former Hogs? If so who? What was it like?

CI: Not yet, but Gary Hogan is in my league.

HN: What did you think of Razorback fans? How do fans in the minor leagues compare?

CI: Razorback fans are some of the greatest fans in the country, there is no comparison between minor league fans and calling the Hogs!

HN: Where are the best and worst places you've played games in the minor leagues? Why?

CI: Worst - Oneonta, NY (Tigers), Clinton, IA (Rangers) - both stadiums are a thousand years old and seat small high school crowds.

Best - Brooklyn, NY (Mets) - 10,000 people per game, stadium sits on Coney Island, Spike Lee attends all games.

HN: Do you keep up with any of your former Hog teammates?

CI: Yes, Dan Wright, Jeff Fletcher, Matt Riethmaier, Scott Woods, Bart Hester, Gary Hogan, Scott Crossett, Aaron Graves, Nick Pitts.

HN: How does each level (College, A, AA, etc) compare competitively?

CI: So far the SEC is better than Short Season A, and Low A. I believe it is because of wood bats.
