HogNation: Did you know about the Hogs in the Minors website before you received this letter/survey? If so, how?
Wes McCrotty: Yes, Dale had mentioned the site to me before.
HN: What was your favorite game as a Razorback and why?
WM: In 1999, I threw a complete game against Mississippi State. It was my first CG and it was in front of the biggest season crowd at that point.
HN: What was it like being a Razorback?
WM: It was great. The whole state roots for you and it was fun to play for my home state.
HN: Do you still follow the Hogs?
WM: Yes, I kept up with them. Had a great run at the end.
HN: What is the best thing about playing in the minor leagues?
WM: The chance to get to the Big Leagues.
HN: The worst thing?
WM: Traveling late in the night.
HN: Have you played with or against any other former Hogs? If so who? What was it like?
WM: Brian Kirby. I pitched against his team, but he didn't play. We had a good time catching up off the field, since we were roommates.
HN: What did you think of Razorback fans? How do fans in the minor leagues compare?
WM: No fans compare to the Razorback fans, that's not a fair question, ha ha.
HN: Where are the best and worst places you've played games in the minor leagues? Why?
WM: The team I play for (Kane County) has been the best place, we average 6,000+ a game and have had a season high of 14, 250. The worst has been Beloit.
HN: Do you keep up with any of your former Hog teammates?
WM: Brian Kirby.
HN: How does each level (College, A, AA, etc) compare competitively?
WM: Each level the hitters get better and more patient. To move up you have to have good command of your pitches and a little luck mixed in too.
