Blake Parker--Survey Responses

HogNation: Did you know about the HogNation website before you received this letter/survey? If so, how?

Blake Parker: Yes. Playing at Arkansas and being a Fayetteville native, I keep in close contact with my HOGS! I think it's a great forum to stay informed on current HOG info.

HN: What was your favorite game as a Razorback and why?

BP: "Brady's Game" & winning Super Regionals @ home because I still get goose bumps thinking about that game. Re-watching Brady hit the homer & Swatty (Sawatski) striking out Martinez-Esteve & listening to Chuck Barrett commentate the final outs is amazing. Also seeing 10,000+ fans calling the Hogs is AMAZING!

HN: What was it like being a Razorback?

BP: Everything I thought it would be growing up & much, much more. Wouldn't trade my college experience for anything.

HN: Do you still follow the Hogs?

BP: Yes, I am friends with many of the players, baseball & other sports.

HN: What is the best thing about playing in the minor leagues?

BP: The chance to play in the BIG leagues!

HN: The worst thing?

BP: Playing everyday, long seasons.

HN: Have you played with or against any other former Hogs? If so who? What was it like?

BP: Yes, I got changed to pitcher & walked Danny Hamblin & also he got a hit off me. It was a great competitive experience. Next time, I'm gonna hit him!

HN: What did you think of Razorback fans? How do fans in the minor leagues compare?

BP: The best in the world. Minor League fans are good, but Hog Fans are the best!

HN: Where are the best and worst places you've played games in the minor leagues? Why?

BP: 1st game of this season in Burlington, Iowa with sideways sleet it was miserable! Best place was when I filled in at AAA Iowa. It was good to get a taste of the higher levels.

HN: Do you keep up with any of your former Hog teammates?

BP: Yes, most of us live in Fayetteville for the offseason & work out together.

HN: How does each level (College, A, AA, etc) compare competitively?

BP: I would say college ball in the SEC would compare to Low-A ball. Then when you get into High-A & Double A you are very close to making a name for yourself.
